The Green Business Bureau Recognizes The Cleanery

GBB member The Cleanery of Albuquerque was recently given the Best Of the City award for Best Dry Cleaner as voted by the readers of Albuquerque the Magazine. This is not The Cleanery's first time on the Best of the City rolls - they topped the list in 2006, 2007 and 2008, too. The photo to the right was taken at the awards event held December 3, 2011 and shows The Cleanery Client Services Manager Scott Richards, Brenda Richards and Antonio Trujillo. Signage in the background presents Eco-Luxe, The Cleanery's green dry cleaning process. Eco-Luxe uses SYSTEMK4, a new environmentally friendly and absolutely safe cleaning process technology. Association of Wedding Gown Specialists Meets in Albuquerque

Members of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists (AWGS) met early last month to elect officers, participate in interactive seminars and award the first annual Jack Barth Memorial Award of Excellence. AWGS also toured The Cleanery, an Albuquerque plant owned by members Kurt and Jodie Lucero. The Luceros recently installed a new Union machine designed for Kreussler’s SolvonK4 acetal solvent, and Kreussler’s Richard Fitzpatrick and Union’s Tom Sheridan demonstrated the new machine and solvent. The Cleanery Acquires Pristine Cleaners

Gene Wise, owner of Pristine Cleaners, a local dry cleaning company is retiring and closing the single Albuquerque location at 12925 Central Avenue NE . Gene has handed the reins of Pristine Cleaners and its route service clientele over to his colleague, Kurt Lucero of The Cleanery who has served the Albuquerque and Santa Fe markets for over 20 years.

The Cleanery will assume Pristine Cleaners’ route service clients and Gene will remain with The Cleanery for a time to insure a smooth transition. Beginning May 4th, Gene will pick up scheduled orders and bring them to The Cleanery for processing. The Cleanery’s route representative, Bill Fletcher will accompany Gene during the transition. All necessary paperwork and billing information to transfer the accounts will be overseen by Mr. Wise. Pristine Cleaners’ retail location will close on May 11, 2009. The Cleanery has promised that pricing and billing structure will not change and Pristine Cleaners’ clients can expect no interruption of service.

Local news personality, Steve Stucker, has always been a loyal customer of The Cleanery. We would like to thank him for mentioning us on the morning news for winning our designation as "One of America's Best" cleaners by America 's Best Cleaners (ABC). ABC is a national organization that strives to locate and recognize the best dry-cleaning establishments in major metropolitan areas throughout the United States.
